Yup, this month found me back in the Mid-West. But alas, only for a weekend. It’s time for the Siouxland Renaissance Festival. It’s a small tent festival, but they have always treated us very well, and this year was no different! I ended up flying into Minneapolis and met Amanda Renaud of the Jypsy Jesters. We then hopped in a rental car and made the long trek to Sioux Falls.
It was also a bit of a treat if you were looking for a different Tortuga show. Just like in Scarborough, it was a two-man blue team. Don’t worry, Liam will be joining us soon in Michigan. John and I have gotten quite good at performing a two-man Robin Hood show. But since Siouxland has treated us so well, we decided to be a little more ambitious. We rewrote the Big Bad Wolf show as a two-man script. I’m told that at one point Gold performed it as a two-man, but we couldn’t find that script anywhere, so we re-wrote it ourselves.
But wait…. there’s more!
Two man Wolf script? No problems. Now, what would you say to a two-man Sword Fighting and Stupidity script? Been there! Done that! Now it was a challenge. That show is extremely modular to begin with. But we’ve gotten very good and slicing and dicing it into whatever we need it to be. We’ve performed small parts of that show at opening gate, at Queen’s Teas and King’s Feasts. All we had to do was move a bunch of jokes around, and viola. You should have been there!
I also went and saw Big Momma’s House of Burlesque again. It was a Great Gastby theme. So of course I found a lovely vintage three piece suit. What is it about a suit that makes any guy look better? They had some great dances, and I love supporting my friends and fellow artists. Plus the girls aren’t bad too look at either.
I started a small-ish remodel on my house. Trying to make my house work better for me–since I won’t be able to move anytime soon. So I’m taking out a small section of wall between my living room and my kitchen and I’m putting in a small island. Hopefully this will both open up the space more, and give me some much needed storage space.
And it’s summer! Of course I had to throw a beach themed party! This entry was posted in Members Only Journal and tagged featured. Bookmark the permalink. ← June 2013 – Time to finish up Georgia and prepare for our summer tour! Yes, Bristol, We Are Having F.U.N.! →
